  • Botanical Name: Ficus elastica
  • Common Name(s): Variegated Rubber tree, Ficus Elastica 'Tineke', Rubber plant
  • Description: Native to tropical regions of India and Malaysia, Ficus Ruby 'Tineke' is a hardy, vibrant evergreen plant with green-yellow and white variegation. Care is similar to other rubber plants, but the variegation requires more light than the 'Burgundy' variety. It won't do well in low light spaces, so place in bright indirect light. Water to keep soil moist at all times. Ficus elastica is a source of latex that is toxic to the skin, and poisonous if ingested, so pet-owners and those allergic to latex should be cautious.

Great product some leaf damage

The Ficus Tineke arrived mostly great — the variegation is stunning. Two outer leaves had some damage from transit but the plant overall looks healthy and is already pushing new growth.

New growth already is the best sign! So sorry about those transit leaves Kwame — the Tineke will fill back in beautifully.

Really love this shop

There's something different about Plantlanta. You can tell this isn't just a faceless storefront — there's real care and culture behind it. The Ficus Tineke is stunning and thriving.

Real care and culture — that means everything to us. Thank you Ade. We pour our whole selves into this.
